Miklos rated his blind date with Minnie a 9 out of 10. Minnie gave the same evening a 7. Both entered the meeting at The Bull and Last in London NW5 hoping for a connection, but admitting to nerves about how to start. Miklos wanted to step outside his comfort zone and meet the love of his life. Minnie was simply hoping for a fun evening. He later described her as confident and just as confused as he was about how to begin.

Conversation flows across life, music and mishaps

Their talk ranged widely. They debated the optimal time horizon for planning a life, oscillating between one and ten years. Travel, studies, and controversial opinions on music concerts were covered. The discussion then turned to K-pop. Minnie mentioned the group Katseye, apologizing to Miklos for the niche topic, but he admitted they ended up talking about loads of K-pop.

The food was intimidatingly tasty, forcing good table manners from both. Neither could figure out the menu, which Minnie cited as the most awkward moment. A minor accident occurred when Miklos stepped on a dog by accident on his way to the loo. "I do wish I hadn’t stepped on that dog, but she assured me it was OK," Miklos said. Minnie described the best thing about Miklos as being super different from her; it was nice chatting with someone who had lived such a different life.

Politeness and praise, but no spark

Despite the easy conversation, a romantic connection failed to materialize. Compliments were exchanged freely. Miklos said Minnie’s table manners were almost too good, and Minnie noted they were both very polite. They summed each other up in three words.

Miklos thought Minnie saw him as nerdy but willing to push boundaries. Minnie believed Miklos thought she was easy to talk to and described him as a very lovely guy with good vibes. By the end, it was clear to both that they were missing a spark.

Reflections and ratings reveal a polite parting

Their final assessments highlighted the gap in their experiences. Miklos’s 9 out of 10 rating contrasted with Minnie’s more reserved 7. They did not go anywhere after the pub. No kissing occurred. Minnie noted a couple of hugs were shared, but there was no vibe for a kiss.

Miklos said the best thing about Minnie was that she is from the best part of town, in his opinion, and it shows, adding that she is unabashedly herself. He would introduce her to his friends because they both love a bottle of wine. Minnie said she would hypothetically introduce Miklos to her friends, but only as a friend.

"We both said we would have liked to have been in a different part of town by the canal," Minnie said. When asked about meeting again, her answer was probably not, but with no hard feelings.
